World's second android created
May 11th 2006 02:24
Would you believe me if I told you that this was the face of a robot?
It is. The 160cm tall, 50kg light android has a silicon sculpted face modelled on two Korean film stars. Named "Ever-1" by her makers at the Korean Institute for Industrial Technology, the android uses 15 monitors in her face to interpret her surroundings. She can move her upper body to express happiness, anger, sadness and pleasure, and hold a basic verbal conversation.
"The robot can serve to provide information in department stores and museums or read stories to children; it’s capable of both education and entertainment functions," said Baeg Moon-hong, one of Ever-1's makers.
Ever-1 is the world's second android, after Japan's Repliee Q1.

I would love to see a video of one talking to see how realistic the movement is.
